Big turnout for Boise River

January 30, 2012

Kristen Ruether and I presented updates on our ongoing lawsuits against Altanta Gold and CuMo Mine to a packed house of concerned citizens at the MK Nature Center in Boise last Wednesday.  We were joined by speakers from Idaho Rivers United, Idaho Conservation League, and Golden Eagle Audubon Society who set the stage by articulating the importance of a healthy Boise River and by explaining the threats these mining operations pose to water and wildlife.

Gary Grimm, of Mountain Visions, led us on a dazzling Google Earth flight from Boise up the Boise River, Mores Creek, and Grimes Creek to the site of the CuMo Exploration Project.  Along the way, Gary showed some great videos he filmed on a visit to the CuMo site last November, including this video:

John Robison of Idaho Conservation League introduces us to this scenic area.

Thanks to Idaho Families for Clean Water for organizing the event, and thanks to everyone who attended for showing your support!
