Oregon spotted frog
According to the US Fish and Wildlife Service the Oregon spotted frog (Rana pretiosa) currently occupies only 78% of its original habitat. In Oregon, the species now only exists in three counties and is a candidate species for Endangered Species Act protection.
Habitat loss and degradation are the main causes for the declines in Oregon spotted frog populations. The Oregon Fish and Wildlife species fact page states, "changes in hydrology (due to construction of ditches and dams) and water quality, development, and livestock overgrazing continue to result in habitat loss, alteration, and/or fragmentation".
