Natalie Havlina: Staff Attorney
Natalie earned her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in May 2006, with a
concentration in environmental law. She graduated summa cum laude and received numerous honors,
including Order of the Coif, the Sam Allen Memorial Prize, and the John L. Thomas Prize. After law
school, Natalie served as a judicial law clerk to U.S. District Judge Fred Van Sickle in Spokane,
Washington from 2006 to 2008.
Natalie traces her environmental ethic to her experiences growing up in Boise, Idaho. She received
a B.A. in English from Whitman College in 2002, and spent the following year in Paris teaching
English in a French junior high school. During law school, Natalie worked for the Environmental
Protection Agency Office of General Counsel and completed an internship at the Environment and Natural
Resources Section of the Department of Justice.
Natalie joined Advocates for the West on August 1, 2008, and works on the Sagebrush Sea project.
